Nice, smart, and easy-going hunter prospect mare

I remember exactly when I first saw her. I had been looking for a young horse to become my next competitive partner, and even though I took some time to think it through, something about her stayed in my mind. I finally bought her at just two years old—and I’ve never regretted that decision.

Her sire, Copabella Visage, is a 1.60m jumper, but what truly won me over was her canter. From the very first moment, she had this naturally uphill, rhythmic stride that just felt right.

Buying her also led me to discover the wonderful breeders at Colorview Hill Sport Horses. That connection meant a lot, and a year later, I came back to them to purchase another special one—my filly in utero, Chasing the Rainbow CVH.

Whatever CVH has always been an easy mare to be around. Calm, kind, and straightforward, she takes everything in stride. She was started under saddle by someone else when I first got her, as I didn’t have the time myself, but I began working with her more consistently toward the end of the summer—after breeding her earlier in the season.

From the beginning, she made everything feel simple. She learned quickly, approached her work with a great attitude, and took to jumping with natural ease. She’s brave, not spooky, and always willing to try, even when she’s unsure—she just wants to understand.

One of my favorite moments with her was at a clinic where we had the chance to ride in front of a judge. Despite all the fillers under the jumps, she stayed focused, confident, and willing. The feedback on her attitude and mindset meant a lot—it confirmed exactly what I had been feeling about her.

Now she’s back out in the field, enjoying some well-deserved time as a broodmare, but I already find myself looking ahead. I’m so excited for the 2027 show season, when she’ll come back into work after weaning her foal… a foal I truly can’t wait to meet.
